These terms govern your use of TimeGuess. By playing or creating an account you accept them.

What the service is

TimeGuess is a browser game. You are shown a historical photograph and guess where and when it was taken.

The service is provided as is. We may change game rules, scoring and content at any time.

You may play without an account. An account stores your progress and lets you appear in leaderboards.

You are responsible for keeping your password safe. Tell us if you believe someone else has access to your account.

We may suspend an account that manipulates scores, automates play, or abuses other players.

A paid plan removes limits and advertising. Prices are shown before payment and include applicable taxes.

A subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.

Photographs come from open archives. Each card names its source and licence — public domain or a Creative Commons licence.

If you hold rights to an image and believe it is used incorrectly, write to {{contact e-mail}} and we will remove or correct the card.

The game itself — its code, design, texts and mission structure — belongs to us.

Historical dates and places come from archive metadata and may contain errors. The game is entertainment, not a reference work.

We are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the service, to the extent permitted by law.
